Connecting Communities

Don't drive, don't want to drive, or simply can't drive? The Connecting Communities demand responsive transport service may be for you.

This service, operated by the Bury St Edmunds Volunteer Centre on behalf of Suffolk County Council, is intended to provide a link to village communities not served by regular bus routes, and can be booked in advance. It can be used to connect you to bus stops or train stations (probably Needham Market and Stowmarket from Creeting St Peter), or get you to the shops or medical appointments.

So, how do you use it?

  1. Call your local area operator (01449 614271) up to a fortnight before you’d like to travel – they’ll be able to answer any questions you might have.
  2. Book your journey (visit the 'my area' page to request a journey via our online form)
  3. Travel to your destination

How much will it cost?

Connecting Communities fares are based on average bus fare costs for journeys of the same or equivalent distance.

If you are aged between 16-19 years old, with a cashless Endeavour Card you can also get at least 25% discount off full price adult fares. Apply for your FREE Endeavour Card at www.endeavourcard.co.uk.
