Fen Alder Carr Local Nature Reserve

PLEASE NOTE - THIS SITE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED.

We are currently in negotiations with Suffolk County Council and the Environment Agency over the refurbishment/replacement of the boardwalk, which is currently very dangerous in places due to damaged planks and large holes.  Maintenance of the boardwalk has proven very costly over recent years and so other options are being looked into to find a more cost-effective solution.

We appreciate the site has been closed for a long time now but our intention is get the site reopened as quickly as possible once works to the boardwalk have been completed.

The entrance to the site has been altered with parking for two cars as, due to anti-social behaviour in the car park, the gate will constantly be locked.  Once the site has reopened a pedestrian gateway will be installed in the current fencing for people to access the site.
